Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s degree in Information technology or equivalent.
At least one of the following certifications: Project Management Professional from PMI, PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 year of experience managing projects, preferably IT projects.
Good English and Portuguese Language.
Knowledge about the IT business and technologies used.
Knowledge about ISO 9001, ISO 21500 and ITIL V3.
Ability to research best practices, structure them and covey them to peers. Ability to speak in public with proven communication and influencing skills.
Activities
Macro planning, and reporting
Promote and organize annual planning exercise where all internal clients’ needs are identified and organized into projects with clear objectives and deliverables, resulting in the Annual Work Program.
Follow up and report progress on Annual Work Program periodically, focusing on deviations and issues that need attention from the PM and management.
Set up Committees, report periodically on projects’ progress, cost, KPI, CPI, Normalizers, and other indicators needed to measure progress and motivate IT team. Use graphs and PBI dashboards to promote the use of factual data and visual management tools.
Budget and Cost Reporting
Collect and consolidate all relevant information needed to prepare and update the IT budget and its execution.
Work with cost control to prepare all the budget and cost reports needed
RFS, Contracts, Purchasing
Keep detailed records and status of RFS, Contracts, and Purchases from planning to closure to report status and required actions.
Train IT team on the use of SAP reporting to follow up the contracts and purchases under their responsibility to easy the tracking activity.
Project Management Office
Manage IT projects using company and Industry standards and best practices.
Define project management processes and ensure that project managers follow the process, use standard milestones, and seek formal approvals (ex. business case, charter, major changes, etc.) to ensure project success using proven methods, tools, best practices, metrics, KPI, etc.
Set up a quality policy for associating project management and Change Management projects for the all IT projects.
Train, mentor and coach IT personnel and Project stakeholders in the adoption of PM methodologies, processes, and other best practices.
Context & Environment
The IT PMO Management officer is based in Maputo. The scope of the planning, cost and reporting activities includes all the locations of the LNG project: Maputo, Pemba, Milan, Houston, etc.
TEPMA1 will face many IT projects managed by a diverse community of project managers with different levels of skill in PM.
The objectives and challenges are to adopt a common methodology for project management to ensure repeatable project success.
In most projects, the project team will be composed of TEPMA1 personnel, HQ personnel, local providers, and foreign providers.
