The UNHCR is hiring a Site and Settlement CCCM Associate.
The main focus of the Site & Settlement CCCM Associate is to support a multi-sectoral response to assist and protect displaced populations in communal settings (collective centres, camps, sites, transit/reception centres, spontaneous and informal sites, etc.), where such are created or envisaged. However, as camps and communal settlements are temporary solutions established only as a last resort whilst all efforts are made to find more durable solutions, the Site & Settlement CCCM Associate does not advocate for the creation of camps but supports the supervisor in improving the management of any relevant communal setting. Additionally, displaced populations often settle outside of communal settings with host families or in rented premises in rural or urban areas and some aspects of the management and coordination of their access to protection and assistance might fall under the purview of a Site & Settlement CCCM Associate.
The incumbent will support the roll-out of CCCM across the targeted sites including ensuring evidence-based data is collected and validated to facilitate service delivery to the IDPs in sites and site-like settings. The incumbent will among other also work with the community structures, facilitate capacity-building programmes and support site-level coordination activities. The national staffing will facilitate programme and operational continuity in the longer-term as necessary and eventually contribute to the overall goal of national capacity development. The staff will support the CCCM programmes in the two districts of Mueda and Montepuez, respectively with a plan to consider additional geographical sites as the situation around IDPs settlements and return plans evolves.
Please also note that engagement under a UNHCR affiliate scheme is subject to proof of vaccination against COVID-19.
