Good Neighbors International is seeking to recruit a competent, committed, self-motivated and enthusiastic candidate for the following position.
1. Overview
Position: WaSH Manager
Location: Mapai and Chicualacuala District, Gaza Province
Duration: Fixed-term contract for 1 year (Possibility of extension depending on the performance).
2. Job Description
Implementation of project and activity management;
Identify priority areas and lead the implementation of the WASH component to ensure technical and programmatic quality of the project;
Assess WASH needs and design the appropriate infrastructure for the delivery of WASH services;
Contribute to the development of approaches and strategies for program implementation and the Country Program Global Strategy;
Facilitate the improvement of the capacity of stakeholders through participatory hygiene and approaches (CLTS, PHAST, etc.) through which WASH activities can be implemented;
Mobilizing and facilitating stakeholder engagement during planning and development meetings, workshops and other forums;
Work together with other members of the WASH team to ensure that the various aspects the WASH response are integrated and are part of a coherent public health system answer;
Technical Supervision and Project Resource Management;
Develop packages and modules of technical and social training appropriate to Hygiene and sanitation, including environmental sanitation, to increase the capacity of local staff;
Participate in the recruitment and training of the project team on WASH issues;
Conduct periodic review of performance and evaluation of designated staff;
Documentation, reporting and knowledge management;
Analyze the appropriateness, adequacy and potential impact of all interventions based on known contexts and needs;
Suggest, support and develop evaluations and reports linked with the ongoing projects to be shared with supervisory staff;
Identify, jointly with the wash team, program constraints and problems during implementation, propose solutions and support implementation;
Support for the effective implementation of WASH programs, developing monitoring and reporting tools and efficient use of resources in close coordination with administration and logistics;
Document and maintain records regarding training, supplies and infrastructure for giving feedback to management for appropriate decisions and actions under the Good Neighbors policies;
Record accurate and timely reports on all planned activities in the format and send to the project manager;
Participate in monthly / quarterly reflection meetings with project stakeholders and address the project monitoring results.
3. Networking and Coordination with key project stakeholders
Partnership with the district government, community leaders and other stakeholders to ensure standards regulations and procedures are complied with in accordance with governmental standards;
Ensure that gender, protection, HIV, environment and other important issues concerns are taken into account in the design, implementation and program reports;
Ensure that project activities reflect the needs of specific target groups and individuals
Ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with local government procedures (eg, site selection) and not duplicate or interfere with activities proposed or performed by other NGOs-
4. Required Qualification
Bachelor’s or equivalent in Public Health, Biological Sciences, Environmental Health, Water and Sanitation Engineering or similar discipline;
Minimum 10 years of experience in WASH initiation, planning and implementation projects in accordance with internal and national guidelines, agreements and standards;
Knowledge and experience of working with rural communities and local government authorities in a remote environment;
Understanding underlying principles and experience in implementing WASH programs, CLTS, CHAST, PHAST and others.
