VMMC Senior QI Advisor Full-Time

EnCompass LLC is currently seeking a Senior Quality Improvement Advisor in Mozambique, capable of managing and overseeing initiatives to strengthen Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision Continuous Quality Improvement (VMMC CQI) in Mozambique.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

Essential functions include:

• Supervise the Mozambique VMMC QI Technical Advisor and hire appropriately
• Represent the project to USAID, PEPFAR, Ministries of Health and other stakeholders in country
• Facilitate development of staff capacity to improve health service delivery
• Develop staff capacity of implementing partners to integrate CQI in their health service delivery
• Lead and facilitate knowledge management activities within the team including the development of case studies, success stories, blogs and participate in webinar presentations
• Maintain an up to data CQI database for the supported sites
• Provide technical support to Ministry of Health VMMC TWG
• Make presentations at relevant technical meetings and conferences on results demonstrating quality improvement of VMMC services
• Oversee the project’s operational planning for Mozambique. Oversee timely submission of quality deliverables to USAID
• Provide technical support to facility teams in: development of improvement aims, measures, and changes to achieve the aims; collection, analysis and review of data to guide ongoing testing of change; and presentation of results
• Participate in the development of quality improvement training and learning sessions materials and in conducting these events
• Follow developments in best practices in the area of HIV/AIDS Prevention, Treatment and Care (including VMMC), and advise project leadership, partners, and teams on trends and developments in the area
• As requested, participate in technical meetings with other international assistance activities to determine areas for potential collaboration and seek for potential content expertise in the areas of HIV/AIDS
• Provide inputs to quarterly dashboards and semi-annual progress reports to USAID
• As requested, present the activity at the MOH-led Technical Working Group meetings
• Travel to sites to oversee the improvement work and to provide technical assistance to coaches and teams

Position Requirements

Qualifications and skills

• Health related degree, with experience in project management and VMMC is required
• A minimum 8 years of progressive experience working in the program country and in the area of HIV prevention, care and treatment
• Five years of experience in working on international donor-funded projects, USAID preferred
• Fluency in spoken and written English required
• Fluency in local languages other than English highly desirable
• Experience with qualitative and quantitative data analysis
• Ability to travel within country up to 40% of time
• A track record of being a strong team player, mentor, excellent communication skills, high flexibility to adapt to changing work conditions.
