Utility Engineer Full-Time

Job purpose

Manage and perform overall operations and maintenance of utility substations, Terminal electrical infrastructure (LV/MV) and fire water pump house.

Key accountabilities

• Responsible for safety & discipline at work place;
• Organize, manage and perform safe operation and maintenance of Utility Substations (LV/MV);
• Terminal electrical infrastructure and fire water pump house;
• Daily Inspections and Reporting;
• Provide technical support to the Maintenance Department;
• Maintenance management and reporting with specified data;
• Preparation of maintenance sheets for Utility Substations, electrical infrastructure and fire water pump house;
• Improvement of maintenance procedures for LV/MV switchgears, transformers and Gensets;
• Attend breakdowns and emergencies ;
• Management of suppliers and subcontractors;
• Spare Parts Management;
• Advise and train users on equipment;
• Maintain all documentation, drawings, wiring schematics, manuals etc.

Qualifications experience and skills

• Experience in operations and maintenance of 11kV Switchgears, Generators and Transformers;
• Mandatory: 5 to 8 years;
• Education: Degree in Electrical Engineering;
• Experience with SIEMENS, ABB, Schneider or EFACEC Switchgears;
• Excellent knowledge about Medium Voltage Substations and Power House;
• Well versed in Control and Protections of Switchgears;
• Good knowledge about Automation of Electrical Substations;
• Know-How about Fire Water Pump House and Fire Hydrant Systems;
• Fully conversant with safety procedures;
• Excellent communication skills;
• Excellent experience of MS office;
• Fluent in English and Portuguese.
