Tractor Operator Full-Time

Job Advert Summary

Unitrans is seeking to employ a qualified Tractor Operator. The overall purpose of an Operator is to effectively operate the designated machine and/or equipment to support operations. An Operator is responsible for operating their machine in a safe manner to execute the set plan, ensuring that targets are met.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Haulage of murrum, sand and soil.
• Haulage of sugarcane seedling, firewood, factory waste and bagasse.
• Cleaning the equipment after operation.
• Immediately report to supervisor on defects, damage, and faults in the equipment during inspection before start of the shift.
• Follow all reasonable instructions from supervisor.
• Handle required documentation.
• Adhere to Fatigue Management Rules.
• Ensure hygienic condition and high standards of housekeeping are maintained in the operator’s cab.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum Qualification: Grade 12/ Matric/ NQF level 4/ National Senior Certificate.
• Experience in a similar role: Up to 1 year.
• Valid driver’s licence with class E, F, and G.
• Training Certificate from a certified vocational institution.
• Experience in operating Dumper Tractor:
  • Knowledge of reporting procedures of emergencies and defects.
  • Knowledge of safe operating procedures.
  • Workplace health and safety.

  • Knowledge of reporting procedures of emergencies and defects.
  • Knowledge of safe operating procedures.
