Electricidade de Moçambique E.P. (EDM) and Hidroelectrica de Cahora Bassa S.A. (HCB) are partnering to develop the Temane Transmission Project (TTP). The TTP will evacuate power generated by the 400 MW gas-fired Temane Generation Project (IPP) at Temane using gas from the Temane PSA license. Temane IPP is owned by the Moz SPV (51%) and Sasol (49%). Moz SPV is owned by EDM, HCB, and a third-party international investor. TTP will be developed as a 400kV single circuit AC transmission system running 560 km from Vilankulos to Maputo (via substations at Chibuto and Matalane) where it will: i. Deliver power into the Maputo distribution system, and ii. Connect to the existing export transmission system provided by Motraco. The TTP is targeted to reach financial close by end of Q1/2019, with Commercial Operation expected approximately 36 months after start of construction. TTP Operation start-up is expected to begin in the first half of 2022, in support of planned start of commissioning and power evacuation from the Temane IPP project. The term of the Project Coordinator appointment shall extend until successful TTP financial close, but may be extended beyond this by mutual agreement. It is envisaged that the Project Coordinator will be an independent contractor, with HCB expected to be the hiring party (unless external financing for the Project Coordinator position is arranged). Subject to the appointed Project Coordinator’s personal circumstances, the hiring party may assist with accommodation, transportation, visas and work permits as required. The position’s main purpose is to: • Coordinate Various TTP development work streams • Coordinate Electricidade de Moçambique E.P.’s (EDM) and Hidroelectrica de Cahora Bassa S.A.’s (HCB) inputs to the development process • Liaise between EDM and HCB staff seconded to the Project and various consultants and advisors • Interface between TTP and the complementary Temane IPP project • Support Project Staff in various capacities The TTP Project Coordinator will report to: Joint Steering Committee (JSC), created under the EDM-HCB Temane Joint Development Agreement (TTP JDA)
