The Technical Safety Manager position is part of the HSE Technical Safety discipline which will provide expert and authoritative Technical Safety leadership to the business assets / project and will use his/her influencing skills to support asset / project to improve process safety performance.Provide strategic support to the organization and business unit representatives aimed at improving the organizations safety culture as well as coordinate corporate intervention programs, driving behaviors and processes necessary to achieve zero incidents.The position holder will be the designated Technical Authority (TA) for Safety Engineering and Technical Safety in Mozambique. The TA will be responsible for the interpretation and application of the HSE MS requirements in relation to Technical Safety EngineeringThe position will lead, supervise, manage and develop a team of technical safety engineers who provide direct support to business / projects.
Initially, the role will sit in Houston and then at the EPC contractor’s office (location to be determined in Europe OR Asia) for approximately 18 to 24 months. Upon commencement of in-country operations, the role will start a 28/28 rotation at the LNG project site in Afungi, Mozambique.
Monitor and manage legislation changes and the effect on Safety.
A bachelor’s degree in engineering or advanced science, preferably with a master’s degree in safety risk engineering.
Fluent oral and written knowledge of English.
