Challenge TB (CTB) is a USAID-funded five-year (2015-2019) program to decrease TB morbidity and mortality in high-burdened countries. Challenge TB is an international consortium of nine partners, including FHI 360, and is led by the KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation. The strategic objectives of CTB are to improve access to quality patient-centered care for TB, TB/HIV and MDR TB services; to prevent TB transmission and disease progression; and to strengthen TB platforms. In Mozambique, FHI 360 is the lead partner of Challenge TB, the flagship US Government TB project in that country. The project is implemented in four provinces (Nampula, Sofala, Tete and Zambézia).
The Mozambique Country Project Director/ Chief of Party for the USAID-funded Challenge TB Project will provide overall technical strategic, and operational leadership for the project, including communicating with and being accountable to FHI 360 HQ for all aspects of the Challenge TB Project in Mozambique The Country Project Director is also responsible for communications with the local USAID mission Challenge TB Project representative, and must also satisfy standards established by USAID, KNCV (prime) and FHI 360 to ensure the co-ordination of the project with international and domestic partners. The Country Project Director is also responsible for clear and timely communication and relationship building with leadership of the national TB program. Key aspects of the job will be leading a team for annual work planning and budgeting, while monitoring and ensuring completion of CTB project targets and deliverables. He/she will ensure strong collaboration with national agencies, local government, and civil society partners while insuring that Challenge TB in Mozambique succeeds in reducing the burden of TB and drug-resistant TB.
