Systems Engineer Full-Time

Specification

• Server hardware planning, installation, maintenance.
• Provide VMware and Azure support to include capacity planning, performance monitoring, upgrade planning/implementation.
• Install and configure Windows Servers in a VMware environment.
• Research and development for VDI solutions.
• Documenting setup of all existing and new products, solutions, changes, etc.
• Reviewing network management system for logging and system traps for errors related to failure, configuration, security events, utilization, etc. Then notifying the appropriate groups(s) or individuals of the issues and working to resolve same.
• VMware and Azure performance troubleshooting and solving same.
• Backup strategy planning and implementation.
• Disaster Recovery planning, testing, and review.

Requirements

• Bachelors of Science in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems or equivalent work experience;
• 3+ years of relevant experience;
• Experience with VMware vSphere 5.x/6.x (ESX & ESXi);
• Experience with Windows Server 2008-2016;
• Experience implementing and configuring VDI;
• Experience with Symantec Backup Exec 2015/2016 and Veeam;
• SAN/NAS configuration and management;
• Network monitoring/management experience;
• Experience with Active Directory;
• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines and budgets;
• Ability to work and solve problems independently and within a team environment;
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated record of efficiently and effectively communicating and working with all organization levels.
