System Administrator Full-Time

Founded in 1981, the Mühlbauer Group has grown to a proven one-stop-shop technology partner for the smart card, ePassport, RFID and solar back-end industry. Further business fields are the areas of micro-chip die sorting, carrier tape equipment, as well as automation, marking and traceability systems. Currently in Mozambique based in Maputo looking for an experienced permanent Network & IT System Administrator to support local projects hence liaising with the headquarter.

The Network & IT System Administrator will be performing the following duties:

Responsibilities:

• Design, Installation, organization, maintenance and support of the corporate IT infrastructure with proactive system management;
• Administration of the hardware: Servers, LAN/WAN, routers, switches, firewalls, desktop and laptop computers, OS (Microsoft), software deployments, security updates, patches and server applications; Database administration (Oracle / MS SQL);
• Backup technologies and strategies; Maintenance integrity, security and efficiency of the system, network and entire infrastructure; Failure identification and analysis, isolation of incidents, problems and bottlenecks; Training of subordinates, colleagues and users;
• Installing and configuring software, hardware and networks;
• Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues;
• Ensuring security and efficiency of IT infrastructure;
• Install and configure software and hardware;
• Manage network servers and technology tools;
• Set up accounts and workstations;
• Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements;
• Troubleshoot issues and outages;
• Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls;
• Upgrade systems with new releases and models;
• Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies;
• Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals and IT policies.

Job profile:

• Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role;
• Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management;
• Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery;
• Ability to create scripts in Python, Perl or other language;
• Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms;
• Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude;
• Excellent communication skills;
• BSc/Ba in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline; professional certification (e.g. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)) is a plus.
