Purpose of Job

The purpose of the role is to manage and provide tax compliance services regarding all taxes, provide tax technical support to all stakeholders and perform activities to maintain and improve relationships with the various government departments and agencies operating in the sphere of taxation and financial information sharing and reporting related to all the business operations of Sasol in Mozambique.

Indirect Tax (IVA/VAT)

• Analyse accounting information relevant for indirect taxes;
• Ensure indirect tax compliance;
• Optimise indirect taxation;
• Ensure indirect tax issue resolution.

Employee Tax (IRPS)

• Ensure withholding tax compliance;
• Ensure withholding tax issue resolution.

Withholding Tax (WHT)

• Analyse accounting information relevant for Withholding tax;
• Ensure withholding tax compliance;
• Optimise withholding tax application;
• Ensure withholding tax issue resolution.

Petroleum Production Tax (PPT) and Production Sharing of petroleum sales (PSA)

• Analyse accounting information relevant for Petroleum Production tax or production sharing;
• Ensure PPT compliance;
• Ensure Production Sharing compliance.

Corporate Taxes (IRPC)

• Support and enable Corporate Tax compliance.

Other Regulatory Reporting

• Coordinate other regulatory reporting to government departments and agencies.

Government stakeholder relations

•  Foster relationship with various government departments and agencies.

General

• Document / File management;
• Maintains good employee and stakeholder relations;
• Reporting period support.

Job Requirements

• Current and comprehensive knowledge of Mozambique taxation requirements;
• Practical experience with completing and submitting Mozambique tax compliance forms;
• Basic knowledge of IFRS and general accounting principles;
• Knowledge of PGC NIFR – higher qualification in Mozambican Accounting rules is preferred.

Qualifications

• B Com or BA degree (with Accounting 1) with;
• B Com Hons (or equivalent 4-year degree with Accounting as a subject) with.

Experience

• 6 years’ work experience in a financial and or business consulting area, or;
• 4 years’ work experience in a financial and or business consulting area.
