Sales Engineer Full-Time

Job Description

Key Tasks:

• Service existing clients and develop new business;
• Provide technical assistance and after sales service to clients;
• Propose the various Weir Minerals products on various applications;
• Proactive in seeking growth in all products;
• Submit quotes and tenders as per the customer requests;
• Expedite client’s orders (pumps and spares orders);
• Gather market intelligence about customers, competitors, markets to help develop marketing and sales plans;
• HSE and Housekeeping requirements at the branch and customer sites.

Inherent Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Engineering diploma / degree (mechanical process);
• Recognized trade qualification as a fitter;
• National Drivers Licence Code EB

Desired Qualifications:

• Sales and / or Marketing diploma

Minimum Experience:

• 4-5 years’ experience in sales & mining industry as a mechanical equipment supplier, in one of the following fields pumps, valves, cyclones, mill liners;
• 2 years technical sales experience in the mining environment;
• Proven sales track record (2 years in mineral equipment application) experience;
• Excellence in building customer relations;
• Achieving sales targets;
• Experience in negotiation

Desired Experience:

• 6 years’ experience in a mining or heavy industrial environment;
• 5 years’ experience working in sales within a mining environment;
• Proven track record with regards technical sales experience in pumps, valves, cyclones etc;
• Experience in Manufacturing;
• Exposure to process applications;
• Staff management experience;
• Knowledge of basic contract / commercial law;
• Pump fitting and maintenance experience
