Job Summary

The Reservoir Engineering Manager position is based in Anadarko’s Mozambique headquarters in Maputo, Mozambique and reports to the Subsurface Manager.

This position will:

• Supervise and mentor the engineering team;
• Manage and execute safely and timely the Golfinho-Atum field development;
• Supervise the deployment of advanced technologies for uncertainty quantification, field development optimization and reservoir management;
• Conduct reservoir engineering studies to ensure technical excellence and provide quality recommendation to management.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a minimum of five (5) or more years or more years’ experience in the Oil and Gas industry, working with an Operator company working on operated production and development. Specific experience and expertise in the following is required:

• Experience in reservoir and field management activities;
• Experience with drilling operations, well testing and flow-backs. Experience with field start-up operations is favored;
• Experience with project management, economics, industry codes and standards, environmental regulations, and safety regulations;
• Experience in reservoir characterization and reservoir forecasting using flow simulator;
• Experience in subsurface uncertainty quantification and value of information is preferred;
• Familiarity with reservoir modeling;
• Strong project management skills including business and technical risk analysis;
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and with external representatives; and the ability to work as part of a team;
• Strong analytical and research skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task are also required.

Responsibilities

• Implement necessary actions to assume the oversight and execution of Golfinho development drilling program (flow-backs, start-up);
• Build the capacity of the technical team located in Maputo to execute subsurface elements of the Golfinho development;
• Supervise the deployment of advanced technologies for uncertainty quantification and field development optimization;
• Provide local technical expertise for the interpretation of production data and the quality assurance of production forecasts and hydrocarbon reserves;
• Be responsible for the estimation, audit and reporting of production forecasts, reserves and resources;
• Provide support for local content initiatives including technical seminars and internships;
• Provide support for reporting and approval processes with government agencies in Maputo;
• Develop and maintain constructive relationships with ENH, INP, and other appropriate Government entities;
• Provide subsurface support for offshore drilling operations;
• Provide guidance, feedback, and assist in the career development of the personnel supervised

Language

• Proficient English language skills, both verbal and written;
• Notions of Portuguese preferred.

Education Requirements

• Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical and/or Mechanical Engineering with significant experience as a reservoir engineer.

Travel Requirements

• The percentage of travel required for this position is up to 25%.

Work Schedule

• This position requires a standard 40-hour/week work schedule with business travel as required.
