Premier Human Capital Mozambique is recruiting for its client, a multinational bank, a Relationship Manager – Chinese Desk:
Role Objective
The Chinese Desk’s primary objective is to facilitate emerging business opportunities resulting from the growing trade and investments between China and Mozambique;
The Chinese Desk will serve as a ‘single point’ of sales and support for all banking related activities with Chinese Investors/Exporters/Importers in Mozambique and Mozambican Investors/Exporters/Importers doing business with and in China;
The Desk will offer an entire range of products and services designed to meet these niche groups’ specific needs – in as far as business with or in China is concerned;
It will be a one-stop shop for the Greater Chinese community and also for Mozambicans doing business with China and Hong Kong;
The desk is to be manned by a skilled and committed individual who is fluent in Mandarin and associated languages (e.g. Cantonese) allowing the bank to understand the Chinese clientele and design solutions to meet those customers’ needs.
Duties/Responsibilities
Responsible for building relationships with Chinese companies and their Hong Kong operating companies present in Mozambique;
Developing the portfolio by prospecting new clients and offering suitable banking services to existing customers;
Operate across segments (i.e.: Corporate, Business and Retail);
Explore new business opportunities for a suite of banking products through various business networks and channels to achieve designated business targets;
Facilitate cross-selling of bank’s products to maximize return from the relationship profile. Working with product specialists and subject matter experts across the bank to structure customized solutions to meet clients ‘unique needs;
Widen the sources of referral so that to increase the customer’s base;
To participate in the whole process of the referral cases until banking relationship set up;
Strong financial and analytic skills, and the resilience to quickly adapt priorities based on the latest data insights.
Competency Requirements
Business Degree holder with at least 4 years solid industry related experience;
Fluency in Mandarin;
Proficiency in Cantonese is ideal;
Sound knowledge of the Greater China market, preferably with a strong Chinese network in-country;
Experience in (cross)-selling banking products;
Strong financial and analytic skills, and the resilience to quickly adapt priorities depending on latest market insights.
