Regulatory Permitting Coordinator – Offshore EPCI Full-Time

Job Summary

The Permitting Coordinator will be an integral part of the Permitting Team and will be based in Maputo, but with expected extended business trips to the North as required, specifically to the project site and/or Pemba. In addition, a trip to Houston, Texas USA will be required to meet with project team and develop understanding of project scope and requirements before commencement of role duties.

This position will interface with Offshore EPC contractors on a regular basis and requires demonstrable communication, inter-functional, and government relationship skills that set a high benchmark to be sustained throughout the Project.

Qualifications

• The successful candidate will have a minimum of Five (5) years’ experience in offshore development or Oil & Gas, LNG, Petrochemical, Extraction/Mining industry or Environmental Permitting;
• Bachelor’s degree (Legal, Environmental or Engineering preferred)

Specific experience and expertise in the following is required:

1.  Experience in permitting activities and requirements in Mozambique, as well as related Mozambican Government;
2. Engagement requirements, in support of a large-scale multinational Project;
3. Direct work experience in multinational companies, Projects or Operations in a practical – hands on – role;
4. Experience in working for and or liaising with EPC, Sub/Contractor, and/or Government relationships;
5. Good knowledge of Permitting processes, systems and documentation flows and requirements;
6. Able to summarize, organize and provide regular report of activities and progress to direct supervisor.

Primary Responsibilities (to include but not limited to)

1. Oversee and support (as required) offshore EPCI permitting group permits application and generation efforts;
2. Liaise with Company Support Services to oversee coordination of all approvals and logistics associated with site visits or inspection when/where required for specific permit application;
3. Engage with relevant government entities located in Maputo, Afungi or Pemba to monitor progress at the working level;
4. Liaise with other project teams and departments to timely obtain the technical information necessary for permitting application;
5. Provide a regular progress report to the offshore EPCI manager, Permitting Manager and Legal Advisor for the regular update of the Offshore EPCI permit register and Project internal reporting respectively.
