Job Summary

The Regional Tax Coordinator is responsible for tax matters for a specific country or several countries within a GeoMarket. The Regional Tax Coordinator will cover East and Southern African countries, based in Mozambique.

Responsibilities

• Review and file fiscal accounts, tax returns and tax payments in compliance with local regulations.
• Review intercompany agreements and practices.
• Audit internal compliance with tax regulations.
• Review FP8 and define practice for recording tax provisions in accordance with policy.
• Review employee related withholdings and tax related issues.
• Support operations in the bidding process, including setting up new operations, and in reviewing customer bids and contracts.
• Provide liaison for and monitor local tax audits.

Experience & Exposures

• Minimum Bachelors degree in Finance or equivalent.
• 6-10 years work experience in Tax practice (preferably from the Big 4 Accounting firms – EY, Deloitte, PWC, KPMG).
• Professional qualification and membership of a national/international Chartered Accounting or Taxation Institute will be an advantage.
• Solid understanding in tax regulations, tax audits and compliance procedures.
• Solid understanding of tax regimes in East and Southern Africa.
• Proficient in ERPs eg SAP.
• Experience in Energy Industry would be an added advantage.
