Project Manager Featured

A RHDC- CONSULTORIA & SERVIÇOS LDA,  a consultancy company working in the areas of recruitment and selection, trainings, performance evaluations, temporary work, development of competencys and others is recruiting for its client an  international non-governmental development organisation a PROJECT MANAGER to be based in Cuamba-Niassa reporting to the Programme Manager.

Main responsibilities

• Comprehensive and efficient management of a water, sanitation and hygiene project integrated into WaterAid’s Rural Programme, implemented in two districts (Cuamba and Mecanhelas) in Niassa province;
• Provide technical support to the Project team, its partners and other stakeholders and work closely with the Governments of the two Districts, contributing to the improvement of the quality of services in the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) sector;
• Promote and maintain an effective partnership with partners and government;
• Guide and lead the project team to achieve project-specific goals, objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs);
• Manage the project on a daily basis in accordance with the company’s current policies and procedures and the donor’s policies;
• Regularly review and monitor project progress against established milestones and take corrective action where necessary;
• Ensure that the procurement process and contract management is effectively managed and is done in accordance with the organisation’s standards and procedures, the legal framework in the country and donor requirements;
• Ensure the financial management and efficient control of the project budget in coordination with the Department of Finance.

Minimum requirements

• Advanced degree in Rural Development or Development Studies at a recognised University, or professional training in Civil Engineering, Water and Sanitation; Environmental Health or related areas;
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in management of projects funded by DFID, USAID or EU;
• Proven knowledge of project management methodologies and tools;
• Excellent planning, budgeting and review skills;
• Ability to work independently and to guide project implementation, monitoring and evaluation;
• Ability to write, edit and produce written proposals and results-focused reports and to analyse financial reports;
• Ability to meet project goals within the established deadlines and budgets;
• Proven experience in working with provincial and district governments, local NGOs, CBOs, international organisations and donors;
• Experience in the use of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.);
• Excellent command of spoken and written English and Portuguese
