Project Manager Full-Time

Our client have a strong background in renewable energy projects in developing markets and act as an investor, developer and deliverer of various renewable power assets. They have private equity funds focused on renewable energy projects such as hydropower, biomass and solar across Africa.

They are currently seeking a site based Project Manager to join their growing business in Mozambique. You will be responsible for monitoring and overseeing contractors’ activities and progress, ensuring that they are completed in a safe manner, per requirements, specifications and within budget.

Required experience

• Experienced Project/Construction Manager, with 10+ years’ experience;
• Previous experience on hydropower projects;
• Relevant university degree (Master or Bachelor), preferably in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical;
• Engineering (engineering background is a pre-requisite);
• Good understanding of working with different cultures;
• Familiar with hydropower development and construction;
• Must be willing to be based at site;
• Advanced level of English language skills;
• Proven track record of having managed EPC contractors/subcontractors on the ground);
• Relevant experience as an EPC contractor and/or owner;
• Knowledgeable in best international practices in relation to Project Management;
• Proven experience with international HSE and Project management standards, development and implementation;
• Hands-on, proactive, self-starter, strong work ethic, integrity, ability to work under pressure, to take responsibility for the own work, communication, problem-solving skills, ready to leave the comfort zone;
• Preferably Sub Saharan Africa/hardship location exposure.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing company in a senior level position. This position is site based role, candidate will be based at site or in the nearest town so will be on single status. There may also be regular travel to other locations.
