Project Director for Reproductive Health CECAP-FP and New Technologies Full-Time

The Project Director will provide guidance, supervision, and technical support to the implementation of all areas of the Project: Cervical Cancer Screening Expansion and Preventive Therapy (CCS & PT) through the Introduction of New Technologies and Integration with Voluntary Family Planning (below referred to as CCS &PT Project). The Project Director will report to the Country Director, Mozambique office. The Project Director will supervise several positions including: Senior Adviser on Family Planning and Prevention of Cervical Cancer and new technologies,Study Manager, Laboratory Advisor, Advisor Monitoring and Evaluation, Finance Advisor and Tele-Health/Digital Health Advisor. The project will run for a period of 3 years.

This position is contingent upon award from USAID/National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine.Mozambican citizens are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and technical support to the implementation of the CCS & PT Project to support MISAU in the area of ​​Reproductive Health, new technologies and research;
• Discuss, agree, and implement your monthly work plan (including review when necessary);
• Support in the planning and implementation of CCS & PT Project activities to MISAU-Provinces, including training and training supervision activities;
• To contribute to the improvement and increase of technical support capacity of CCS & PT to MISAU, through support in the elaboration / revision of documents (strategies, standards, guides, curricula, training materials, etc.) in the area of ​​SSR and especially the National Program for the Prevention and Control of Cervical and Breast Cancer, family planning and new technologies;
• Provide technical support in the implementation and improvement of the quality of Cervical Cancer and Breast Cancer Prevention and Control services, new technologies and integrated family planning services, according to the time and availability agreed in the monthly work plans;
• Support the effective implementation of performance standards for cervical and breast cancer prevention and control services, including the Visual Inspection of the cervix with acetic acid (VIA), cryotherapy, colposcopy, biopsy, LEEP, and a new one technology;
• Support and provide technical support in the implementation of VIA, Cryotherapy, Colposcopy, Biopsy, LEEP and new technologies in the Health Units contemplated within the project and consolidation of new techniques of the National Program for the Prevention and Control of Cervical and Breast Cancer and Family Planning;
• Identify, discuss and support the implementation of solutions to minimize or resolve the constraints, problems and needs encountered in the implementation of the National Program for the Prevention and Control of Cervical and Breast Cancer and the strengthening of integrated family planning services and new technologies ;
• Support the organization of the technical aspects and participate actively in the in-service training, as well as in the supervision after training and in the training supervision of the selected health facility providers;
• Support in the monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of the National Program for the Prevention and Control of Cervical and Breast Cancer and new technologies and the family planning strategy;
• Support the preparation of quarterly and annual reports on activities undertaken and results achieved in the area of ​​the National Program for the Prevention and Control of Cervical and Breast Cancer and family planning;
• Support the implementation of other SRH-related activities within the framework of the implementation of the CCS & PT Project Action Plan;
• Support the implementation of other activities related to the laboratory area related to SRH in the framework of the implementation of the Action Plan of the CCS & PT Project
• Support the financial management of the project;
• Identify, document, and disseminate lessons learned, best practices, evidence and success stories in implementing quality improvement and humanization of the Family Planning and Prevention and Control Services for Cervical and Breast Cancer;
• Support in the design, implementation, analysis, reporting and dissemination of operational investigations and studies.

• Specialist in Gynecology & Obstetrics, with at least 10 years of current practical experience;
• Experience with the Visual Inspection of the uterine cervix with acetic acid (VIA) Cryotherapy, Colposcopy, LEEP, new technologies, family planning and HIV / AIDS;
• Knowledge of the main national policies and strategies in the area of ​​CACUM and FP;
• Knowledge / experience with the Approach to Improve Quality and Humanization of Health Care in particular in the area of ​​maternal health, CACUM and FP;
• Ability and skills of communication and information (verbal and written);
• Skills and experience in negotiation and coordination with partners at all levels;
• Experience in the training area, particularly in the ongoing training or service in the VIA area, Cryotherapy, Colposcopy, Biopsy, LEEP, new technology and PF;
• Ability to work with autonomy, responsibility and honesty;
• Availability to travel in and out of the Country;
• Knowledge of computer science in the user’s perspective, especially the use of spreadsheets (excel type) and word processor (word type);
• High level of proficiency in Portuguese and English, Spanish also acceptable.
