Job Advert Summary

ERG Africa invites suitably qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the Project Developer-In Country Manager.
The primary purpose of the role is to lead all the development activities up to financial close for a greenfield integrated coal mine and power plant project in Mozambique
The successful incumbent will be managing all work streams in Mozambique especially where government approvals are required.

Minimum Requirements

Graduate or Post Graduate with management degree

• At least 10 – 15 years of experience in the mine or power or Oil & Gas industry in Mozambique (preferably power);
• Led and managed projects involving ESIA Resettlement activities;
• Led and managed government approval processes for a project;
• Led and managed technical and ESIA consultants;
• Have led a team;
• Well versed in English and Portuguese (Speak, write and read).

Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead all the ESIA / RAP related activities for the project and manage the external Consultant (RAP, DUAT etc.);
• Coordinate all government engagements for the various approvals, licenses etc. required for the project;
• Coordinate the Concession Negotiations with Government;
• File and manage the process of Investment with Central Bank;
• Manage the Investment tax incentives at APIEX;
• Coordinate all servitude with ANE, EDM, HCB Etc.,;
• Coordinate the water usage with ARA Zambeze;
• Customs exemption for capex items;
•  ARENE regulations and Tariff negotiations;
• Any other work stream with government or Mozambique entities as required for the closing of the project;
• Lead / Manage all the ESIA / RAP related activities;
• The person to be predominantly based in Chitima (ENRC site), Tete with constant travel towards Maputo and Johannesburg as required.
