The United Nations World Food Programme is the world’s largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide. The mission of WFP is to help the world achieve Zero Hunger in our lifetimes. Reporting directly to the head of Partnership and FLA Management unit and/or to the Head of Field Office, this position is located in various duty stations in Mozambique.
The aftermath of cyclone Idai has created a situation in which hundreds of thousands of people require immediate food assistance for survival in significant parts of Sofala, Manica-, and Zambezia province. Prolonged assistance will be necessary for large parts of the affected population until the next harvest of 2020. To check if this assistance is delivered properly, and to account for the large amounts of food assistance provided and beneficiaries reached, presence of Monitoring- and COMET dedicated staff on the ground is crucial. Therefore, it is imperative that the (new) sub-office of Beira has a national Monitoring/COMET focal points in place.
Under the supervision of the Emergency M&E Officer in Beira, and in liaison with the Country Office M&E Officer, the incumbent will be responsible for the below duties that are not exhaustive.
Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Portuguese Languages.
