Preparation of monthly payroll taxes (IRPS & INSS) for expatriate and national employees;
Monitor and analyze changes in Mozambique payroll tax legislation which impact Exxon Mobil’s business and implement any relevant tax changes;
Work closely with HR and outside advisors regarding benefit qualification and taxation;
Work with management to ensure understanding of payroll taxes in order to optimize tax exposure;
Provide salary, benefit and tax forecasts during the annual budget cycle and adhoc as needed;
Track and report monthly expatriate benefits for both local and global taxation;
Coordinate approval and submission of payroll tax returns;
Coordinate payment of payroll taxes;
Prepare payroll tax accounting journal entries;
Monitor all employee related general ledger entries for accuracy; work with various HR/ accounting groups to make necessary accounting corrections;
Obtain tax clearance certificates as needed;
Prepare calculations and support files necessary for ExxonMobil to pay home affiliates for expatriate costs and work with other departments to execute payments;
Support payroll tax audits;
Review and verify invoices for outside payroll tax advisors;
Other payroll related activities as needed
Qualifications and experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting;
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience;
Microsoft Office experience, especially Excel;
SAP experience preferred;
Attention to detail and ability to work independently;
Problem solving skills;
Fluency or Advanced level of proficiency in written and verbal English.
