In 2022, the Seventy-fifth World Health Assembly adopted resolution WHA75.6, in which it approved the extension of the Thirteenth General Programme of Work from 2023 to 2025. Through this strategic document, Mozambique aims to deliver public health outcomes through an integrated results-based structure that includes strengthening activities of External Relations Communication and Visibility. On this purpose the External Communications Officer will contribute to the External Relations Activities of the office under the lead of the External Relations Officer.
The Partnerships and Communication Officer will be responsible for the development of the WCO Mozambique Communication plan and will contribute to national, regional and worldwide strategies that includes advocacy, visibility and information management content. The objective of the position is to develop and improve communication materials aiming to reach different public including public health stakeholders, donors, partners as well as Mozambican and worldwide populations.
Under the leadership of the External Relations Officer and the guidance of the WHO Representative, the SSA will develop and implement communication strategies to enhance the visibility of WCO Mozambique, covering communicable and noncommunicable diseases, health emergencies, and other health-related themes.
Generic responsibilities include supporting communication and visibility around the involvement of the WCO Mozambique team in supporting the country during the outbreak. Key specific responsibilities include:
