Overall job purpose
Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the Nutrition Officer is responsible for providing technical expertise on inutrition interventions and other nutrition related functions to improve the nutritional status with a particular focus on group awareness sessions about breastfeeding, complementary feeding, prevention of malnutrition, child care practices, and child development, together with individual counselling and support for those with difficulties and special vulnerabilities, and the development of strategies to promote and protect breastfeeding in health facilities, while ensuring proper coordination and collaboration with municipalities, other authorities and beneficiaries. The position requires extensive field work and movement in Cabo Delgado.
