Opportunity

Efficiencies for Clinical HIV Outcomes (ECHO) is a $209 million project to support the Government of Mozambique’s achievement of HIV/AIDS epidemic control and establishing a sustainable, government-led HIV response by 2023 in provinces where USAID is the primary clinical support partner. The objectives of the project include strengthening the essential public health services for HIV epidemic control at national, provincial, and district level to ensure long-term sustainability of the HIV response, reaching and maintaining 95% HIV treatment coverage and viral suppression in designated geographic regions, ensuring that Mozambique is utilizing the latest evidence for rapid scale up and maintenance of effective HIV interventions, and providing the Government of Mozambique with data, measured findings and recommendations necessary to make key service delivery decisions.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Serves as the IT resource and point of contact for the assigned office location;
• Updates the Workstation Inventory List, i.e., assist the office in the physical inventory of all equipment and software (PC’s, laptops, printers, etc.) in the assigned office location;
• Provide technical support for major and/or urgent problems with LAN or any of its components (server crash, firewall, virus attack, hard drive failure, etc.);
• May support the IT Manager in imaging and joining laptops to the domain;
• Provide on-call assistance to project staff as needed – in-person, phone or using remote access tools;
• Performs File Server backups (weekly full backup, daily incremental on file server, and monthly backups of file server and users data);
• LAN Administration support: Assign user accounts and verify privileges/rights (for network and Abt services); manage disk space, printer queues, and internet connection;
• Perform desktop and laptop computer support, including performing routine preventive maintenance (disk scan, deleting temp files, defragmentation, etc.); installing software patches and upgrades, troubleshooting hardware or software problems; and ensuring users are backing up their data files on the server;
• Provide basic support/training of MS Office products;
• Perform hardware troubleshooting, including identifying hardware failure for all hardware warranties; coordinating with hardware vendors/manufacturers for the prompt replacement of any defective components, and working with the Project’s Internet Service Provider to solve any problems accessing the internet and/or sending and receiving email.

Preferred Skills / Prerequisites

• High School diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, or other IT-related field preferred;
• At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in IT network administration in a Windows environment, including internet access support;
• A demonstrated ability to work independently;
• Fluency in Portuguese required; English language skills preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

• (2+) years of experience and high school diploma OR the equivalent combination of education and experience
