Network Security Officer Full-Time

Role purpose:

Implement Vodacom policies and procedures with regards to Physical Security to maintain close working relations with internal and external sources and stakeholders, and Proactively involved in identifying exposure to the business.

Provide safe and secure environment for VM facilities and assets implementing the minimum security standards as per Global Security Standard Guideline.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

• Ensure the proper investigation of internal and external Theft and vandalism Incidents against VM properties and personnel;
• Conduct Routine Site Security surveys and risk assessments;
• Identify and recommend internal control measures to pro-actively prevent incidents of economic crimes against VM;
• Actively coordinate with all security suppliers and build a trustable network;
• Liaise with Government Security and Law Enforcement agencies.

Key performance indicators:

• Ensure implementation of security applications that are fit for purpose, complying with VCG best practice and remain cost effective. Regularly review the physical security standards and be responsive to changes in the threat environment;
• Ensure that risk assessments are conducted for all Vodacom premises to manage security risks.

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

• Defense force or Private Security background is an advantage;
• Telecommunication or investigative experience;
• Good written, presentation and verbal communication skills both English and Portuguese;
• Strong Interviewing skills.

Must have technical/ professional qualifications:

• University Degree;
• Experience with surveillance technologies and equipment (e.g. CCTV , Alarm, intruder);
• Valid Driver License.

Risks: Being a Field Security Officer may possibly be one of the hardest and dangerous in the corporate environment. They may oftentimes experience situations that pose risks to their lives such as assault from trespassers, burglars or unruly customers, Vehicular accidents, either driving or being struck by fleeing suspects.
