Music & Art Teachers – Primary Full-Time

We are seeking experienced and qualified full-time or part-time teachers for Music & Art

Enko Education has opened an international early childhood education and primary school in Tete, Mozambique.

Enko Benga International School is an English language crèche and primary school located on the banks of the Zambezi in Tete, Mozambique. The school has almost 70 students but is fast growing. It offers high-quality international curriculum, with great facilities and exciting extra-curricular activities. No class size ever exceeds 24 students and most crèche and primary teachers have an assistant at half-way full. The school has Grades 1 – 7, with Nursery, Pre-School and Reception in for two age groups; 3 & 4 year olds and 5 year olds. A new grade will then be added each year as the children rise up.

We are looking for qualified early childhood educators and primary school teachers who have experience and are ready to intensively and extensively learn and grow.

Our ideal teachers must:

• Be experts in their field: must be both a musician and a music teacher and must be both an artist and an art teacher.
• Have in-depth knowledge of pedagogy and primary school (and ECE) content in music or art.
• Have superior knowledge of child development
• Have extensive experience with the ages and grades they are applying to teach
• Be an excellent, effective and accurate user of the English language in spoken form, in writing, in reading and in listening – in addition, Portuguese expertise is a plus
• Adore children and have great enthusiasm for ECD and primary schools
• Be willing to undertake rigorous and extensive training via online and face-to-face workshops to increase her/his skill in the classroom
• Have the ability to inspire and motivate young children
• Ensure parent satisfaction and be an excellent communicator
• Have a hands-on attitude
• Exhibit extensive creativity in designing activities and materials
• Have basic IT skills at least and advanced organisational and planning skills
• Show the ability to manage classes and deal with challenging behaviour kindly, consistently and firmly
• Be willing to proactively participate in school’s efforts to grow the student body, suggesting and joining others to implement a variety of school marketing and student recruitment initiatives
• Have the relevant permits for working in Mozambique – or be from neighbouring southern African countries where SADC rules facilitate some ease in acquiring permits (PLEASE NOTE THAT ONLY A FEW SUCH PERMITS ARE AVAILABLE)
• Understand that our mission requires us to operate with constraints on resources and salaries
• Share our excitement to offer a top-notch international education to the fast-growing African middle-class

All teachers will report to the Head of School and his/her designated team members.

Start date: Immediately

Locally-Competitive Remuneration Package: Please note that our salaries are modest in comparison with other elite private and/or international schools, but compare favourably with independent schools in Mozambique. In addition, Enko Education will help the selected candidates with temporary housing for the first few months if they have to relocate to Tete.
