The United Nations World Food Programme is the world’s largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide. The mission of WFP is to help the world achieve Zero Hunger in our lifetimes. Every day, WFP works worldwide to ensure that no child goes to bed hungry and that the poorest and most vulnerable, particularly women and children, can access the nutritious food they need.
The World Food Programme (WFP) in Mozambique made the transition to the Country Strategic Plan (CSP) in 2017. Through the CSP, WFP Mozambique is committed to assist Shock affected people in the country as to enable them to meet their basic food and nutrition needs during and immediately after a crisis. In response to the severity of food insecurity in the region, WFP will also expand the lean season emergency assistance through FFA activities to Inhambane Province (Mabote, Govuro). WFP wants to ensure that the work of the beneficiaries during the lean season activities is well applied and provides real benefit and added value to the communities. Complementarily, WFP will start a post-emergency social protection support through CBT to assist the vulnerable food insecure population in 2 districts in Gaza: Guijá, and Chibuto. This way,
