Our client is looking for a Marine Compensation and Logistics Administrator to be based in Afungi, Mozambique as part of the resettlement team, reporting to the Compensation and Logistics supervisor. The position is responsible for the implementation of the compensation payment system for about 4000 fishers impacted by the LNG Project.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in land access and resettlement implementation;
- Experience with compensation and relocation activities, preferably within fishing communities;
- Strong planning and organizational skills;
- Experience supervising a small team of field / community officers;
- Computer skills: database / ISOMETRIX;
- Language skills: English and Portuguese;
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies, Geography, Social Studies;
- Nationality: Mozambican.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the implementation of and monitor all compensation activities for marine impacts, including fishers and intertidal collectors;
- Coordinate the final validation of entitlements, assets and associated cash and in-kind commitments through the ISOMETRIX database system;
- Identify all eligible fishermen and intertidal gathers eligible for compensation and livelihood programs and Final validation;
- Oversight of the execution of compensation and resettlement agreements includig preparation of instruction for payment of cash compensation, oversight of agreement execution and compensation delivery, ensuring effective implementation of AMA1 procedures;
- Oversee the commitments tracking system to monitor the timely delivery of all commitments contained in each contract;
- Manage the implementation of the delivery of the material assistance program through a voucher system;
- Conduct necessary pre-audit and controls to support formal internal audits on compensation payments.
Work Schedule: 28 continuous days on duty (12 working hours p/day) / 28 continuous days off duty (Rest & Recovery).
