Manager: General Ledger, Process & Controls Full-Time

Role purpose:
Lead & Manage the General ledger, Financial Reporting and Controls to ensure timely periodic reporting and analysis of consolidated financial results, cash flow and balance sheet for VM, SA in compliance with IFRS and Group Policies. Manage the implementation of internal control standards as they relate to the Financial Reporting Process including the timely remediation of any controls failures.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
General Ledger Process and Team Lead
Supervision and coordination of the GL close process including the closing of X3 and SAP ledgers for local market Fin Ops and Shared Services teams;
Deliver timely and quality service for the delivery of financial statements to the relevant stakeholders both in the local market (i.e. FP&A) and Group reporting;
Perform key trend analysis;
Produce management reports to support management reviews for all Mozambican entities to ensure completeness, accuracy and validity of the monthly GL close/reporting process.
Financial Reporting compliance monitoring and internal controls execution:
Implement a strong control environment, ensuring compliance to all relevant group policies and Top 11 controls;
Implement appropriate controls and compliance requirements surrounding the month end close and reporting process;
Manage all the internal and external audit requirements;
Manage the balance sheet reconciliations process including the identification of risks and resolution of issues

Working knowledge of Accounting principles;
Excellent working knowledge of MS Office, especially Advanced Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
SAP ERP and HFM;
SOX, IFRS and PGC NIRF;
Consolidations and financial reporting.
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
Completed relevant Accounting degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience within Finance operations;
Professional Accounting Qualification (Chartered Accountant).
