The United Nations World Food Programme is the world’s largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide. The mission of WFP is to help the world achieve Zero Hunger in our lifetimes. Every day, WFP works worldwide to ensure that no child goes to bed hungry and that the poorest and most vulnerable, particularly women and children, can access the nutritious food they need.
Following the March and April 2019 Idai and kenneth Cyclones that devasted vast areas of Sofala, Manica, Zambezia, Nampula and Cabo Delgado provinces, WFP operations in those provinces increased in response. Recovery response operations are still underway and expected to continue for most of the first half of 2020. Therefore the need for a Logistics Associate to guide these activities.
Under direct supervison of the head of Sub-office, the Logistics Associate will co-manage and act as focal point for all logistics activities in province.
To provide specialized support functions and/or supervise staff performing standard logistics/supply chain processes and activities to enable effective delivery of goods and services for all delivery modalities.
