The United Nations World Food Programme is the world’s largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide. The mission of WFP is to help the world achieve Zero Hunger in our lifetimes. Every day, WFP works worldwide to ensure that no child goes to bed hungry and that the poorest and most vulnerable, particularly women and children, can access the nutritious food they need.
Following the March and April 2019 cyclone Idai and Kenneth that devasted vast areas of Sofala, Manica, Zambezia and cabo Delgado provinces, WFP operations in those provinces increased in response. Recovery response operations are still underway and expected to continue for most of the first half of 2020. Therefore the need for Logistics Assistant to support these activities.
At this level, under the direct supervison of the head of Sub-office or delegated authority, the Logistics Assistant will provide support to Logistic operations and activities.
