Lodge Manager Full-Time

Overview

A brand new lodge has opened on the wonderful shores of Lake Niassa, in the Niassa Province (Northern part of Mozambique).

• About 60km out of the provincial capital Lichinga is located the small village of Meponda, one of the very few fishermen villages on the Mozambican shores of the lake Niassa;
• From there, another 7km by boat and you arrive at the lodge itself. Anyone who wants to adventure the real Mozambican experience will fall under the charm it’s charm;
• For the last two years, the lodge was slowly but surely built by a group of people who fell in love with the Lake Niassa at first sight;
• They always lived with the strong desire to give the opportunity for everyone to discover this magic place too while still maintaining completely intact the local ecosystem and pristine nature where it was built;
• Indeed, the large majority of the material used to build the infrastructures was collected locally making this Lodge, the true definition of Ecotourism;
• With activities moving forward and a tourism increasing, the management team is willing to recruit a young person to help managing the place;
• This person would be accompanying the customers coming from Lichinga and the rest of the world, improving the performance of the local staff in their daily tasks and customer care, helping the clients in living a unique experience and supervising the construction of the new infrastructures still to come.

We are looking for a candidate with the following profile:

•  basic management (staff, customers, facilities);
• Have skills in basic construction (material mainly from surrounding natural resources);
• Speak fluent English, Portuguese or any other language is a plus.
