Lead Construction Full-Time

The main purpose of this role is to deliver the construction of a project of an engineering nature within Mozal Operation; in accordance to the relevant processes, quality, safety standards, and performance targets for HSE and Cost.

The construction lead will be responsible to implement the programs, procedures and best practices covering all construction aspects; monitor and facilitate the coordination and communication with the project team and Mozal operational team. In collaboration with the project manager the construction lead will be responsible for the management of the contractors on site and the application of controls (contractual terms and conditions) for the delivery of the project.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be required to;

• Lead the management of the construction and commissioning activities and risks relevant to the required activities;
• Lead the team members to ensure delivery against performance targets;
• Monitor expectations, understanding and application of processes within the team to support compliance with local requirements;
• Ensure that projects are compliant with relevant Mozal and South32 requirements & processes;
• Validate that material risks are identified and related critical controls are implemented and effective;
• Provide inputs into plans, budgets, and targets for the team and ensures delivery;
• Ensure execution of operational discipline, high performance and enhances the technical knowledge of team members.

Serious contenders will have Degree in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering, with at least 5 years’ experience in an industrial environment. Exposure to Project Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management and English Proficiency is a requirement (Oral/written).
