Junior IT and Software Engineer Full-Time

Founded in 1981, the Mühlbauer Group has grown to a proven one-stop-shop technology partner for the smart card, ePassport, RFID and solar back-end industry. Further business fields are the areas of micro-chip die sorting, carrier tape equipment, as well as automation, marking and traceability systems. Currently in Mozambique based in Maputo looking for an experienced permanent Junior IT and Software Engineer to support local projects hence liaising with the headquarter.

The Junior IT and Software Engineer will be performing the following duties:

Responsibilities:

• Develops software solutions to meet customer requirements through team and individual efforts;
• Participates in the analysis and composition of requirements, design of architectural and component software features, design and implementation of system, design and implementation of test plan, and documentation of final product;
• Should be able to adapt to new languages, methodologies, and platforms to meet the needs of the project. Develop applications written in php, JavaScript, Perl, C++, C#, or Java. Initial duties may include reviewing code, writing documentation, and following test procedures;
• Later duties may include responsibility for production software components;
• Work may include UI design, graphics development, and/or programming, including 3-D programming;
• Work alongside SW development and test engineers as part of an agile process to build a virtual environment;
• Requirements: Object oriented programming, with base SW languages C++ and Java required; desired tool experience with ellipse and visual studio;
• Work with developers to design algorithms and flowcharts;
• Produce clean, efficient code based on specifications;
• Integrate software components and third-party programs;
• Verify and deploy programs and systems;
• Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing software;
• Gather and evaluate user feedback;
• Recommend and execute improvements;
• Create technical documentation for reference and reporting.

Job profile:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline;
• Strong technical skills including understanding of software development principles BSc/Ba in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline; professional certification (e.g. Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA);
• Knowledge of coding languages (e.g. C++, Java, JavaScript) and frameworks/systems (e.g. AngularJS, Git);
• Experience with databases and Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks (e.g. Hibernate);
• Ability to learn new languages and technologies;
• Excellent communication skills;
• Resourcefulness and troubleshooting aptitude;
• Attention to detail.
