For the moment we have a great opportunity for a volunteer to support our VSO office in Maputo in all IT related challenges. On a voluntary basis you will act as point of contact for the IT related queries in the office. You’ll help to determine the IT issues and work with the global IT team on solutions. The problems can be both hard- and software related.
You’ll be trained by the global IT team to become the local Mozambican IT champion. Some of the task you’ll support the office in: configure Windows 10, MS Office and Anti-Virus software on new starters’ laptops, undertake regular tasks such as performing backups from the office’s local server, help to coordinate and facilitate IT training in the office, …

You hold a bachelor or master degree in IT, or you’re in the process of obtaining the degree. You’re looking for an opportunity to apply your IT knowledge in a professional working environment on a voluntary basis. You are proficient in use of Windows 10, Microsoft Office and network and information system administration. You have a pro-active professional style and understand the importance of good costumer service.
Experience in or knowledge on one (or all) of the following subjects is desirable: IT Service Management System (e.g. Remedy Force or Zendesk), Active Directory and Azure, CRM systems such as Salesforce, Office 365 and SharePoint Online.
As a VSO volunteer you will work on an ad hoc basis supporting the Mozambique office. Based on the current IT needs of the office this job is currently about 24 hours per week. There’s no fixed time schedule as yet as it will be agreed upon with the successful candidate.
You get an opportunity to learn what it is to work in IT in the development sector. You’ll receive training and have access to knowledge from our professional global IT team.
