The Rapariga Biz Programme, initiated with funds from Sweden, provides a valuable opportunity to test and generate robust evidence and learning into which interventions and combinations of interventions (e.g. mass media, school enrolment, mobile clinics, community dialogue, school sexuality education, mentoring, vocational training, economic empowerment etc.) are most impactful and cost-effective at increasing knowledge, and contributing to measurable change in attitudes, behavior and agency among girls and young women to reduce early marriage and pregnancy.
Complementary funds from DFID to the Rapariga Biz will cover the period October 2018 to December 2019. Funds will be used to achieve three key objectives: (1) generate new learning on ASRHR and strengthen the programme’s MEL and results framework, (2) improve coordination and convening; (3) enhance results through costed and no-cost programme adjustments.
The Behavior and Social Change Communication Consultant will be dedicated to the Rapariga Biz Programme, providing technical support to a specific set of activities and approaches in the area of Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, of girls and young women, in alignment with the objectives of the DFID funded components of Rapariga Biz.
The Consultant will provide technical support and guidance to capacity development of implementing partners towards the development of well-defined strategies, using a mix of communication and empowerment channels and strategies – as well as gender and community-based and participatory evidence and methods; and provide technical support to the implementation of the Rapariga Biz advocacy efforts and learning agenda to help inform the programme implementation.

The program supports the current efforts in Nampula and Zambezia towards the fulfillment of girls and young women’s sexual and reproductive health and rights, using the educative mentorship sessions in the so-called Safe Spaces.
Direct supervision by the PO responsible for the Rapariga Biz, with overall guidance by Assistant Representative, in close collaboration with the ASRH Specialist.
