Immigration Manager Full-Time

Anadarko has an Immigration Manager – Mozambique LNG position open in Maputo, Mozambique. This role will oversee the development, implementation and facilitation of the entire immigration process as it relates to the lawful immigration and employment authorization needs for employees and candidates for AMA1 and the Mozambique LNG project.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a minimum twelve (12) years immigration, and/or related experience, including working with third party vendors and providing strategic direction to the Company’s immigration policies and practices.  Additional specific qualifications include:

• Understands business drivers for areas of responsibility; identifies and implements cost effective immigration solutions to meet organization strategic goals;
• Recognized as an immigration law expert in analyzing and recommending practical solutions to complex immigration matters globally;
• Provide strategies and guidance to HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Business Leaders, and Legal regarding complex immigration matters and effectively communicate options and recommendations;
• Manages outside immigration counsel to ensure adherence to protocol, compliance, service level standards and communication;
• Has worked (or lived) in multiple countries and has experience in multiple employment regimes globally (language skills preferred);
• Has sufficient political savvy and organizational agility to work within a diverse organization spanning more than twenty (20) countries;

Responsibilities:

• Leads global immigration initiatives to ensure compliance with immigration requirements for employees and non-employees in the countries in which the Company operates;
• Provide SME level support and advice on Immigration issues to HR and AMA1 PSP teams to drive goals for the Mozambique LNG project;
• Partner with AMA1 PSP and Talent Rewards teams to drive innovation, technological advances, and raise service level in regards to immigration;
• Researches and recommends best practice enhancements to existing immigration programs; identifies and evaluates appropriate resources for data; conducts analysis to identify trends in the immigration arena;
• Leads company immigration policy design and development to ensure alignment with corporate business strategy and to attract and to grow the pool of global talent;
• Present and develop training to HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition and business leadership regarding immigration;
• Strategize, design, implement, and continually improve seamless immigration processes and policies;
• Participates actively in global mobility transformation initiatives and leads the implementation of designated recommendations to facilitate step change for the immigration program;
• Establishes global standards and manages the exceptions process, balancing the need for global consistency with the unique needs of assignees and host locations;
• Monitors legal developments impacting areas of operations which may influence the Company’s programs; ensures ongoing compliance with laws and regulations in the jurisdictions in which the Company operates;
• Is responsible for managing third party service providers, ensures providers deliver top-level customer service, and develops metrics to measure the effectiveness of service levels;
• Participates in the development of immigration-related communications for Human Resources, management, international assignees, and other clients;
• Provides on-going advice and counsel to Human Resource Business Partners in response to queries and/or matters related to immigration programs, processes, procedures, and tools;
• Participates actively in start-ups in new countries; provides advice and counsel;
• Influences complex and multi-faceted matters, simultaneously handling multiple high profile projects;
• Recommends annual spending priorities, has a proven record of cost reduction, and overall improves performance on projects;
• Provide leaderships and mentoring for less experienced staff.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in law, business or related field required; Master’s in business preferred.

Certification or Licenses:

• GPHR or related certification preferred.
