Human Resources Officer – Construction Featured

Our client, a global construction company based in Maputo is looking for a Senior Human Resources Officer to manage HR related responsibilities on site. The role is a one-year contract and requires a hands-on and results-driven approach in workforce management with experience in civil construction.

Job Description:

• Plan, implement and supervise the workforce relations, policies and procedures to ensure smooth running and effective production on site;
• Develop efficient Industrial Relations procedures;
• Implement effective workforce planning initiatives;
• Support the management on disciplinary and grievance issues;
• Develop and deploy effective tactical strategies to manage negotiations/ union relations;
• Review employment and working conditions to ensure legal compliance;
• Deal with all relevant institutions regarding all Labor relations and compliance related matters;
• Maintain employee records (attendance, data, paperwork etc.) according to policy and legal requirements;
• Manage all HR related matters pertaining to contracts, wages payroll, policies, processes and performance management;
• Provide accurate and effective monthly and quarterly HR reporting to Senior Management.
• Requirements and Qualifications
• 5 years of proven experience in an HR role managing Industrial Relations and HR procedures related to a large workforce;
• Good understanding of Mozambican labor laws;
• Outstanding organizational and time-management skills;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with fluency in English;
• Problem-solver with strong ethical standards;
• Degree in Human Resources (or relevant Degree);
• Ability to manage a multicultural workforce;
• Proficient use of SAP HR.
