Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive HSE Manager to oversee health, safety, and environmental operations across multiple project sites in Mozambique. This rotational role requires a dynamic leader capable of managing a team of HSE Officers and ensuring compliance with local and international HSE standards.

Job Description

• Lead and supervise a team of HSE Officers across multiple operational sites.
• Forcasts, plans and schedules work of the HSE team on site in Pemba and Afungi.
• Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and programs.
• Ensure compliance with Client, Company and Mozambican regulations and international HSE standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
• Reviews and arranges for the provision of site safety equipment and training required
• Drive continuous improvement in safety culture and performance.
• Investigate incidents and near-misses, and implement corrective actions.
• Provide HSE training and awareness programs for site personnel.
• Liaise with local authorities, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Implements and supervises the site drug and employment physical programs.
• Prepare and present HSE performance reports to senior management.

You Are Meant For This Job If

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of HSE experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Experience working in remote or international locations, preferably in Africa.
• Strong knowledge of international HSE standards (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
• Proven ability to manage teams and multiple site operations.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Fluency in English required; Portuguese is a strong asset.
