Qualifications/Experience required:
Degree in Public Relations/Government Affairs/Political Science or related discipline;
Minimum 7-10 years in a government affairs/stakeholder engagement role requiring project representation, building and maintenance of relationships, etc;
Familiarity with requirement of large scale private sector projects (especially OGM);
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, Good public speaking Skills;
Fluent in Portuguese and English; oral and written (additional languages an advantage);
Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint);
Mozambican Nationality;
Willingness to travel to Afungi/Palma and Maputo on regular basis.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Stakeholder identification and assessment in provincial Government, CSOs/NGOs and development actors;
Establish and maintain effective relationships with identified stakeholders through continuous relational and operational engagement;
Represent the Project in engagement with provincial Government and provide operational support to Pemba-based, Afungi and Maputo based functions in relation to engagement with stakeholders;
Promote broad-based awareness, understanding of the Project among Pemba stakeholder groups;
Develop and maintain stakeholder database relevant to the Project and functional activity occurring at the provincial level;
Lead CSO engagement and coordination of quarterly CSO update meetings;
Engage humanitarian/development stakeholders to ensure awareness of programs and activities relevant to the Project and social management plan.
