Ginger Farm Development & Plant Breeder Full-Time

Moamba Area – Mozambique: Our client is looking for a Ginger Farm Development & Plant Breeder to join the team.

Due to the remote location of the farm, this position would suit a mature couple or a couple with children who are home schooled or who go to boarding school.

Minimum Requirements

Farm Development

• Min Agricultural diploma and/or 4 years’ experience in ginger or vegetable farming.
• Previous project management experience.
• Proven Irrigation Management & Technical Installation experience (micro irrigation).
• Proven Chemical & Fertilizer application experience.
• Computer literate essential (Excell).
• Excellent record keeping skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Maintenance and mechanically orientated.
• Valid drivers license.
• Valid Passport.

Grower

• Degree/qualification in Horticulture, Science, Plant Genetics or related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Experience in evaluating fruit trees and fruit.
• A strong background in genetics is essential.
• Ability to problem solve and conduct cause analysis.
• Computer literate.
• Strong record keeping skills.
• Must be willing to travel.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Valid passport.
