Geoscience Technologist Full-Time

Job Summary

This Engineering / Geology Technologist position will be located in the Maputo office working with the Subsurface Department to assist a multi-disciplinary team of geoscientists and engineers with data management  / quality control tasks and other work necessary to keep programs operating efficiently.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Geoscience, Computer Science, Information Technology, GIS;
2. Minimum of 4 years’ working experience in exploration projects in either oil and gas (preferred) or other related industry;
3. Above average proficiency in Excel is desired (Formulas, basic Macros, and VLOOKUP);
4. High software aptitude with ability to learn and become proficient in multiple software packages and databases;
5. Knowledge of import/export of data across databases is preferred

Responsibilities

1. Support staff in all data management needs;
2. Create and populate application-related project databases with data; maintain or synchronize data across various data stores, particularly with Spotfire;
3. Continually maintaining multiple databases through the uploading and downloading of geological, geophysical & engineering data;
4. Assist the team with written presentations and reports;
5. Proactively seek to improve systems, data management, processes and team functionality;
6. Apply document control policies to data and documents generated by the team, or exchanged with third parties, government agencies and partners.

N.B. This position covers 24-hour operations during the execution of the drilling campaign
