General Manager, LNG Operations Full-Time

Job Summary

The LNG Operations General Manager is accountable for the safe delivery of all production operations on AMA1 operated LNG liquefaction facilities at Afungi, to meet Operations Readiness and Business Plan targets in compliance with Anadarko, local regulatory and other reputational requirements. The role will report into the Onshore LNG Director, under the leadership of the VP MzLng.

During this project execution phase, the role is responsible to:

1. Ensure that all operations inputs are provided to the Onshore LNG Project to meet project delivery requirements; and
2. Develop the necessary capabilities including people, processes and operating and management systems necessary to operate the AMA1 facilities as part of an integrated Offshore – Onshore LNG operation, in time to meet first LNG target dates and within the current Baseline budget.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Senior Operational Management experience in an Oil & Gas facility
• Leadership of large operating teams, including staff and contractors
• Proven record of delivering operational outcomes on time and within budget
• Developing and implementing management and operating systems, processes and procedures in an Oil & Gas environment
• Extensive Operating experience in an LNG Plant
• Experience in design and development of  LNG/Oil & Gas projects
• Experience in setting up the operations in a Greenfield oil & gas mega projects in a leadership role

Responsibilities

• HSSE and Asset Integrity performance of the facilities on Curtis Island
• Provide Operations input to the Onshore LNG Project
• Deliver LNG production in line with Business Plan targets and variations to these as directed by the Operations unit, including Production Management and Supply & Optimisation
• Develop, implement and maintain HSSE, operations, maintenance and asset integrity management systems, process and procedures within the overall framework set by Anadarko
• Management of all Operations and Maintenance activities for the pre-ops and post start-up of the LNG Plant.
• Recruit, manage and development of THE Onshore LNG staff.
• Provide input to and implement the annual Business Plan.
• Develop, monitor and control the budget
• Provide input to the assessment and selection of minor modification capital expenditure for the facility through participation in the Operations Capital Budget Committee.
• Represent the company with the local authorities and local communities, in collaboration with accountable Anadarko Functions.
• Maintain liaison with the national/local regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with regulations/laws, in collaboration with Government and Community relations.
• Leads a multidisciplinary team to deliver, operate and maintain key components of the Onshore LNG Operations
• Pre-Operations O & M Budget
• Onshore LNG OPEX for the AMA1 facilities with constraints set by the O&M strategy and plans
• Indirect influence over Contractor for the design, development, commissioning and start-up of the Onshore LNG facilities

Education

Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Science, Construction, Project Management, or related field is required. Master’s Degree preferred.
