General Manager Full-Time

Our client is a large Eastern and Southern African forestry company. They are looking for a General Manager to lead a team focused on developing and operating a high-quality commercial forestry plantation – whilst providing environmental, social and economic benefit to local communities.

What you will be responsible for

• You will have overall Profit & Loss responsibilities.
• Commercial management including; identifying new potential clients, contract negotiating and managing existing clients.
• Plantation and processing management.
• Logistics management, from plantation to client.
• Leading a large senior management team.
• Engaging with local and national politicians as well as communities
• Ensuring that the company’s certification systems are upheld and that operations are in line with FSC Principles and Criteria.
• Provide the board of directors and shareholders with monthly and annual reports.

Who we are looking for

• Applicants must be fluent Portuguese and English speakers.
• An experienced senior manager with direct forestry experience (having worked on a 10,000 ha+ site).
