Technical Specialist Full-Time

World Vision Mozambique is hiring a Technical Specialist, based in Maputo.

Purpose of the position

Within the Principal Recipient Implementation Unit (PRIU), the Technical Specialist will support the Project team viz, M&E manager, bed net coordinator,  Regional and provincial Co-ordinators and the Project Director to ensure the successful, implementation, monitoring and oversight of the grant activities by the principal and sub recipients.  Take lead role in the areas of technical quality, supervision, and capacity building of the members of the PRIU team and SR implementation teams. This position is responsible for taking the overall leadership in technical and project coordination aspects of the consortium of sub recipients as well as guaranteeing the quality assurance aspect of the implementation based on international standards and best practices.  S/he will also ensure the provision of  technical expertise in capacity building in the areas of community base interventions.

Qualifications:  Education and language

1. PhD with 3 years or  MD with 10 years of public health experience or Master in Public Health or related field with more than 5 years of  technical support experience;
2. Portuguese and English spoken and writing;
3. Experience in work for malaria control program.

 Minimum Qualification required

1. MSc/MPH with more than 5 years of working with National Government/ local NGOs or directly implementing malaria programming;
2. Experience in working at a senior level with government officials, NGOs, donor agencies;
3. Strong experience in monitoring, analysing, and evaluating programmatic information;
4. More than  5 year of experience working with government and NGOs in an advisory role.

Experience

• At least 5-7 years of relevant experience with international organizations in a similar position;
• understanding of malaria transmission and its control.

Working Environment / Conditions

• Ability to work in an environment that promotes Christian values;
