Barbaricum is seeking a Tactical Advisor to provide embedded advisory support services for a State Department customer. This work supports the Government of the Republic of Mozambique (GRM) as it develops a specialized law-enforcement response force to terrorist activity. The advisor will enhance the GRM’s capacity to develop, train, support, and deploy new tactical law enforcement teams through training and mentorship.
Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship required;
Active DoD Secret Clearance required;
Experience as a member of foreign-deployed joint terrorism task force either as a member of a U.S. Special Operations Force or as a sworn member of the Federal Bureau of Investigation within the last 15 years;
Direct operational counterterrorism experience in positions from team member through SF BN/Group (SF) or Company through Division/MEF level (Conventional) or as a member of the FBI’s Hostage Rescue Team;
More than 10 years of service in a U.S. military special operations unit or as a member of federal law enforcement;
Demonstrable advanced proficiency with individual weapons, expeditionary communications, trauma and wilderness medical care, and personnel recovery;
Former U.S. military rank of O-3 or higher or the civilian rank of Special Agent in Charge at the FBI;
Must be fully deployable (physically and medically) to austere environments;
Documented score of 2/2 on the Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT) in Portuguese or a Modern Language Aptitude Test (MLAT) score of 50 or higher in Portuguese;
Must possess ability to carry an operational equipment load of 55 pounds.
