With guidance and support from IFRC Logistics Delegate, the Senior Logistics Officer based in Beira will monitor activities to enable delivery of logistics services which are in-line with IFRC Logistics strategy and IFRC procedures ensuring right quality and optimized services that meets the requests of services users.
This will include involvement in fleet management, stock control, warehousing, ensuring efficient logistics and warehousing operations, and is the first line of assistance during the response for operations involving the warehouse stock.
He/She will work closely with CVM logistic department ensuring integrated approach with HNS and conduct activities in scope of National Society development (NSD).
This role is based in Beira, Mozambique but operates as a part of global LPSCM unit, therefore needs to maintain awareness of wider activities. Based on current and anticipated needs, there is the potential for domestic travel for short term deployment to support the operations of IFRC in the country.
This role carries both co-ordination and management responsibilities. The role will provide level logistics service provision in conjunction with HNS and under the guidance of the IFRC Logistics Delegate. The aim of working with NS is to build skills and capacity to enable NS to manage Country level logistics as set target with RC/RC need. This role is also responsible for the direct management of IFRC logistics projects and carries accountability for Country level IFRC fixed logistics assets. As such, this role requires excellent team working, training and project management skills and technical expertise.
