Global Edge is hiring a Senior HSE Manager Upstream, based in Pemba.
The role will provide strategic intervention, HSE support and advice to the various operations across the Upstream Organization, namely Offshore design, fabrication, and construction, associated CPI scopes, and Drilling and Completion;
Support the development of HSE Organization necessary to help deliver exceptional HSE performance within Upstream Project;
Support the Director of Upstream Operations in the preparation of an HSE G&A budget and oversight of all HSE staff costs;
Facilitating effective contractor management and behavioral change through the development of Contract HSE requirements, project procedures, and activities and initiatives necessary to achieve best practice in safety management within the Upstream Project;
As focal point for the Upstream Project HSE Managers and line management, this position will act as a leader in the development and implementation of Upstream Project strategies relating to proactive risk management, safety culture development, prevention of HSE incidents, maintaining HSE compliance and implementing One-Maestro where applicable, within the Upstream Organization.
Formal academic qualifications in a safety related discipline; o Postgraduate qualifications desirable;
Sound understanding of national and international safety legislation and standards;
Membership of a professional body ideally related to Safety;
Knowledge and understanding of all aspects of Safety, including: Management systems, hazard identification, hazard and risk analysis and assessment methods of demonstrating the safety of hazardous installations and techniques for monitoring and improving safety performance;
Proven ability to positively develop and influence an organisation’s safety culture;
Ability to understand the underlying issues associated with incidents and to develop plans to ensure continuous improvement and focus is maintained.
